In 1990, John and Vicky Osakowicz moved to Upstate New York with their three sons, an idea, and a dream. Their idea was to establish something the area was greatly missing. An affordable family dining experience that served quality homemade food. After vacationing in the Lake George area for several years, John and Vicky found it frustrating to find a quality restaurant that was also affordable for a family of 5. Realizing there was a void to be filled and an opportunity in front of them, they decided to make the biggest decision of their life, and The Peppermill Family Restaurant was born.
John said to Vicky “If you treat the customers like you treat family and guests at our house, I’ll take care of the rest.” That formula has certainly worked over the years. Besides the delicious food, many customers are known on a first name basis, truly being a locals’ favorite! Over two decades later, John, Vicky, and 2 of the boys continue the tradition of serving quality home made food while providing excellent service at a price that’s affordable for a family of any size.
